About Erin
My name is Erin Adderley and horses are my passion. My love for horses started at a young age. My mother had horses while I was growing up and I was fortunate enough to get my first pony at the age of 3. Like most pony’s, Midnight, taught me early on patience and hard work. Unfortunately, several years later we had to sell our horses due to my fathers job in the Military which had us relocating every 2 years for the next 10 years.
During those years of moving around the country my passion for Competitive Gymnastics exploded. I quickly progressed up the levels and by my sophomore year in high school I had colleges recruiting me. A couple months after going on several college tours I suffered a career ending injury to my knee. Thank goodness my love for horses was there to pick me up and give me another hobby again. Little did I know that hobby would turn into a career and a lifestyle.
I attended college at the University of Akron in Ohio. I studied Criminal Justice and Political Science as it was a field I had a lot of interest in. I could always see myself becoming a cop or an FBI agent. Whenever I wasn’t in school I was at the barn riding and taking lessons and being a barn rat. The summer of my sophomore year I decided I wanted to do an internship in the Horse world as my desire to learn more and become a better horsewoman was so strong. I knew I needed to broaden my horizons and get out of Ohio. Where better to go learn to be a better horsewoman than California? I did a summer internship with Jenny Sherbo and that’s when everything changed for me and I knew I wanted to do this for a living. I so enjoyed learning how horses think and how to have better feel and timing and how much my actions both on the ground and in the saddle can influence the horse. During my internship I had the opportunity to ride with some of the best riders in the western performance industry. I got to attend shows and watch them and It’s amazing how much you can learn just watching the warm-up pen.
I left California with a burning passion to keep learning and getting better. Once back in Ohio, I started my own training operation starting colts and dealing with problem horses. After graduating College I had California calling me back, the horse world is incomparable there!! So I packed everything up and hauled my horses, dogs and all my belongings across the county.
Once back in California my career quickly took off. With the help of some amazing mentors I built my business up to what it is today. I train and show successfully in Reining, Dressage, and Ranch Versatility. My desire to keep learning and getting better is still there and I continue to take lessons and learn from each and every horse I get the pleasure of working with. People can teach you a lot, but the horses can teach you even more if you let them.

About My Program
A solid foundation is the basis of my program. With a solid foundation a horse should be able to succeed in whatever discipline they want to do. While laying a solid foundation my end goal is to create a balanced horse both mentally and physically. I want a horse who is confident and curious and who is a happy willing partner. One who likes their job, and If they don’t like their job it’s my job to find a job they do like. I don’t believe in cramming a horse into a certain box because that’s what they are “suppose”to do. It’s my job to educate and advocate for the horse. It’s amazing the things these creatures will do for us.
